Informasi terakhir mengungkapkan, James Cameron’s "Avatar" tembus penjualan tiket sebesar 200 juta dolar khusus di bioskop Imax saja! Hal tersebut dirilis oleh perusahaan bioskop layar lebar Toronto hari Senin 22 Januari 2010. Selama 10 minggu berturut turut berada di puncak box office, film 3-D ini pada minggu terakhir memperoleh penghasilan sebesar $8.2 milyar dari 263 bioskop Imax di Amerika Utara dan di luar negeri.
